Icebreaker Fall is coming! What is your favorite fall activity?

Purpose:The purpose of this lesson is to renew our passion and love for sharing the Good News.

Main Scripture: And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone. 16 Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who refuses to believe will be condemned. (Mark 16:15-16 NLT)

Discussion: Jesus commissioned his 11 disciples to preach the Good News everywhere! Those 11 men took that assignment seriously; and as a result, millions have come to know Christ. That commission is to us as well. As a believer, it is our responsibility to continue this call of carrying the Gospel to the ends of the earth. We must continue the work that Jesus has assigned for us to do.

1. the good news is our assignment!

Q1-  What kinds of distractions keep us from completing our assignment? Can "ministry" be a distraction?

Q2 - The pattern is: Preaching -> Believing -> Salvation. What would happen if we decided not to complete our assignment?

2. the good news is about Christ!

For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile. (Romans 1:16 NLT)

There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.” (Romans 4:12 NLT)

Q3 - The message of the Gospel is simple. Jesus is the answer to everything that we need! Share a testimony about a practical way that Jesus is/was exactly what you needed.

Q4 - What is your greatest fear about sharing the Gospel?

3. the good news is christ's power at work!

Dunamis - power for performing miracles.

And the disciples went everywhere and preached, and the Lord worked through them, confirming what they said by many miraculous signs. (Mark 16:20 NLT)

Q5 -  Do you believe that the power of God will work through you? If applicable, share a time when you witnessed the power of God after preaching the Gospel?

Q6 - The disciples went everywhere and preached. What places do you find it difficult to preach the Gospel?

Q7 -  Why does God use miracles to confirm the Word that is preached?

Declaration: I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I will obey His word and preach the Gospel everywhere I go. I believe that God will reveal His mighty power through me, and that I will see lives changed. I take my assignment seriously. Someone preached the Gospel to me, and I will preach the Gospel to someone else. I declare that I am bold, I am anointed, and nothing will stop me from preaching His word! In Jesus Name. Amen.

Application: Think of one person with whom you want to share the Good News this week. Pray for an opportunity to share the goodness of God with them.
