Icebreaker: This year is almost over! What are you believing God for as we approach the end of the year?

Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to identify one of the strategies that God gives us to help us pass the Fear Test.

Main Scripture:

But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, "Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid."
28 And Peter answered Him and said, "Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water." 29 So He said, "Come." And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus.

Discussion: One of the ways that we overcome fear is through Praise! If our outlook is full of fear, we will never be able to receive all that God has for us. We have to make a decision to grab on to praise when everything in our life seems stormy. When we praise God before we see any change, we are choosing courage and faith! God always manifests His Presence when we praise Him!!

1. The outcome is in your mouth.

Complaining attracts the Spirit of destruction…Praise attracts the Presence of God - Pastor Marco

Q1- When we are walking through a storm, why are our words so important?

Q2- Read 1 Corinthians 10:10 (NKJV)- Why is complaining so detrimental to our lives?

Q3- Discuss why complaining is the direct opposite of praising?

2. After praise comes manifestation and revelation

But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, "Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid." (Matthew 14:27 NKJV)

Q4- Jesus told the disciples to be of good cheer and then He revealed who He was- How does praise open our spiritual eyes to who God is?

Q5- Read Proverbs 3:6-9. This is God's promise to us! How can we live this scripture out in our every day lives?

3. Our praise defeats the enemy- Our praise is a weapon!

Q6-  Why does the enemy want to steal our praise?

Q7- Read 2 Chronicles 20:21-23. Why do you think they sent the praise leaders out first?

Q8-  How does praise prepare us for our battles?

Declaration: I choose to praise God no matter the circumstance! I believe that as I acknowledge God, He is directing my path. I know that my praise is defeating the enemy and bringing victory to my life! I know that God is already working on my behalf! Praise the Lord!!

Application: All of us have a circumstance in our lives where we are believing God for victory; instead of complaining about that circumstance, start intentionally giving God praise about it.
