What's on your bucket list for the summer?
The purpose of this lesson is to help us understand God's vision for our lives.
Joel 2:28 NLT “Then, after doing all those things,
I will pour out my Spirit upon all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy.
Your old men will dream dreams,
and your young men will see visions.
Before we can try to understand the vision God has for us, we must lay the foundation of where our vision comes from. Without knowing Jesus, we cannot know our vision. Today we are going to focus on understanding who Jesus is, and what he did to pave the way for us to walk in God's plan for our lives.
Q1 - Why is it so important to first understand Jesus before receiving vision for your life?
Q2 - If you were being honest, do you believe that you seek God's vision for your life first or your own vision for your life first?
Q3 - The most important revelation we can have is understanding who Jesus is. Who is Jesus to you?
who is jesus? - Only God can give us this revelation. This is the most crucial revelations that God wants us to get. Our eternal life and quality of life depend on it.
1. Jesus is God!
John 1:18 NLT No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us.
Q4 - What does it show about God that he would leave heaven, walk this Earth as a man, and die a horrific death?
Q5 - Jesus did more than any other proclaimed "god" ever could do. What is something you know about Jesus that shows how great he is?
2. Jesus is the sacrifice for our sins
Romans 4:25 CEV God gave Jesus to die for our sins, and he raised him to life, so that we would be made acceptable to God.
Q6 - Jesus put to death the power of sin. What sin have you put to death by giving to Jesus?
Q7 - We can have a new life and be made righteous because Jesus resurrected from the dead. How has your life been changed since you've accepted Jesus into your life?
I declare that I am devoted to Jesus! I will not live a life that is distant from God. I will draw close to Him and grow to know Him more every single day. Thank you Jesus for dying on the cross for my sins so that I can have a new life!
Start every day this week writing down 3 things you're thankful for because of Jesus. It could be anything from your family, your meals, your health, even your friends.
