“BIG Obedience”

Obedience: to follow instructions

Ezekiel 36:26-27 NLT
And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart. 27 And I will put my Spirit in you so that you will follow my decrees and be careful to obey my regulations.

Why should we obey? First we need to understand that obedience doesn’t save us, but obedience is proof that you’re saved. Obedience is a response to the salvation that Jesus Christ gave us.

Q1 - Why do you think it’s important that we walk in obedience to God’s word?

Q2 - How different would our lives be if we got a journal and wrote down every instruction that God gave us and actually did it?

Why do We Obey?

#1 We obey because Jesus is the Lord of our Lives

“Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?

Jesus asks this questions because many people play the role of an obedient Christian on the outside, but don’t live that way on the inside. It’s time that we as a group and a church start living for Jesus in our hearts the same way we proclaim with our mouths.

Q3 - What does it look like when someone calls Jesus Lord but doesn’t live that way int heir heart?

Q4 - Have you been guilty of living that way?

Q5 - What does it look like when someone makes Jesus Lord in their heart and in their actions?

Lord: to belong to one who has the power of deciding the title given to you; describes one who has ultimate authority.

Q6 - Do you consider Jesus Christ the Lord of your life? How do you know that?

Q7 - How can you grow in more obedience to God?

Q8 - As we grow in greater obedience to God’s word and instructions, how do you think your life will improve?

In the month of April, our Care Project is to work together as a group to get rid of 1 brick towards the down payment of the building. 1 brick represents $500 that goes towards the down payment of our building and finishing other major initiatives in the church and around the world.

Here’s how to donate:

  1. Download The Way World Outreach App

  2. Click Give

  3. Change the fund to "Care Group Offering"

  4. Write down the group leader's name in memo line

Declaration Prayer:

Father, help me to walk in BIG OBEDIENCE! I want to honor you with my life, not just in what I know, but in what I do. I pray that I will hear your word and walk it out in my life! Give me the strength and courage to be obedient to your voice, no matter where you send me or what you ask of me. I believe my life will improve and become more and more successful because of your grace! Thank you Lord! In Jesus’ name, Amen!
