Main Scripture

Genesis 12:1-3 NLT The Lord had said to Abram, “Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family, and go to the land that I will show you. 2 I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others. 3 I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt. All the families on earth will be blessed through you.”

When it comes to being blessed, there is God’s Part and our part.

#1 - God’s Part

God has already set up the blessings for us, it’s now up to us to follow His lead to receive our inheritance. It’s God’s will for you to be blessed and to prosper, but it doesn’t end there. It is also God’s will that we are a blessing to others.

Q1 - What’s the biggest miracle you’ve witnessed God do for someone who was in lack?

Q2 - Do you believe that what God did for others, He can do for you?

God Blessed Abram with 6 Major Blessings

  1. Fruitfulness in areas that have bene unfruitful

Unfruitful: not seeing prosperity or blessing

Q3 - Is there an area of your life that you have been “unfruitful”?

  2. Prosperity

  3. Promotion

  4. Power to Bless Others

Q4 - Who do know that is in lack and needs a blessing?

  5. Protection
Q5 - What are some ways that God blesses us with protection?

  6. Universal Blessing

Excerpt from “The Blessed Life” by Robert Morris

The Lord cares most about our hearts. God does not simply bless our giving; He blesses giving from right attitude of our hearts. As we develop hearts, we remove selfishness and giving becomes joyful.

[Q6] What is the most unselfish thing a person has done for you?

Luke 6:37-38 “Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn others, or it will all come back against you. Forgive others, and you will be forgiven. 38 Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.

Often people hear teaching or think these verses are about money. In fact, they do not speak about money at all… Whatever you give, you’re going to get more back.

[Q7] People can give of their treasure, time and talents. How does the way people spend their time, give of their treasure, and use their talents show where their heart is? In which of those areas are you the most generous? Which is the greatest challenge?

Malachi 3:10 NLT Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do," says the LORD of Heaven's Armies, "I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won't have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test!

Did you know that this is the only instance in all of scripture where God challenges man to put Him to the test? Any time someone does that, it’s a sign that they are very confident they will deliver what they said they will. Have you ever put God to the test? Why or why not? If not, try it today for the first time. If you have, take it to another level, because He is faithful to deliver his promises!

What are we giving towards?
Harvest Fest is coming up soon! Let’s get ready to do what we do best, meet the need of our community and love others! This month we get to do that by preparing for a great Harvest Festival which includes candy, games, fun, and of course the word!
