Ice Breaker

Living a life of fulness and passion is exciting, what’s your vision for life?

THE WAYS VISION STATEMENT: Bringing salvation to the inner cities of the world through the preaching of the Gospel, loving people, meeting needs, making disciples of Jesus Christ, and developing leaders who build the local church that transforms the community.

1.     Repent of your sins.

Matthew 4:17 From then on Jesus began to preach, “Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near”

Repent: to change one’s mind for better. Abhorrence of one’s past sins, a change of mind. Think differently afterwards. Fill or express sincere regret or remorse of ones wrong or sin.

A believer can’t live in sin and be okay with it, stay in it, or practice it.

1 John 1:9 ESV If we say we have no sin we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sin, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Q1 - Why do we choose sin instead of God?

Q2 - What caused you to come to repentance?

2.     “God has given us the name of Jesus to call on to be saved. “

“The subject of Salvation: When Jesus came, he came with a vison to save souls.”

Save- (Sozo) to rescue from danger or destruction, to deliver from the penalties of the Messianic judgement, make whole, heal, be whole.

Jesus came to save people that are headed for destruction, misery, and hell.

Luke 19:10 For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost NLT

Lost- to declare that one must be put to death to devote or give over the eternal misery in hell, to perish, ruined.

Q3- Why should we have an urgency to recognize people who are lost?

Acts 4:12 There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.

You can call on the name of Jesus whenever you are in need. When we call and whatever we ask He will give us!

Q4 - What are some things we should repent of?

3.     “God uses the preaching of the Good News to save people.”

Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes-the Jew first and also the Gentile. NLT

Q5 - What are we being saved from? Answer: The consequences of sin. The biggest problem that mankind has is not climate, change, terrorism, cancer, it is sin.

Q6 - Who was the last person you shared the Good news with, and they received salvation? If it has been awhile since you have shared the Good news, who will you reach out to?

Consequence #1 JUDGEMENT OF SIN.

2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in this earthly body.

Revelation 20:11-15  And I saw a great white throne and the one sitting on it. The earth and sky fled from his presence, but they found no place to hide. 12 I saw the dead, both great and small, standing before God’s throne. And the books were opened, including the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to what they had done, as recorded in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead, and death and the grave gave up their dead. And all were judged according to their deeds. 14 Then death and the grave were thrown into the lake of fire. This lake of fire is the second death. 15 And anyone whose name was not found recorded in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire.

100% of people will stand before God and be judged and for every single act that we have done.  In the Book of Life everything will be written, our thoughts and our actions. Hell is expanding its borders because so many people are going there, but God loved us so much that he sent His only Son to take on all our sins, so that we could be forgiven.

Q6 - Think about the condition of a lost soul. What will you do to ensure that your relatives or friends will have their names written in the Book of Life?

The number one addiction we all need to be set free from is sin. (All of us are addicted or slaves to a sin that we need to get set free from).

Slave: A person entirely under the domination of some influence or person: one who gives himself up to another’s will devoted to another to the disregard of one’s own interests. (Those whose service is used by Christ in extending and advancing his cause among men.)

John 8:34-38 MSG Jesus said, “I tell you most solemnly that anyone who chooses a life of sin is trapped in a dead- end life and is, in fact, a slave. A slave is a transient, who can’t come and go at will. The Son, though, has an established position, the run of the house. So if the Son sets you free, you are free through and through. I know you are Abraham’s descendant. But I also know that you are trying to kill me because

Addictions could come in different forms: Lust, pride, jealousy, adulterous affairs, lying, cheating, stealing, homosexuality, drugs, alcohol, etc.

Q7 - What addictions or sin have you been set free from?

Romans 3:16 Destruction and misery always follow them.

Misery: a state or feeling of great distress or discomfort of mind or body.

Q8 - What is the root cause of our misery, distress, and discomfort?

Q9 - How do we get out of the misery, distress, and discomfort?

When we repent to Him and turn away from our sins, begin to obey God, and stop practicing sin He gives us the power to be set free!

We are preparing to complete our 15th year of ministry, and enter year 16! We have accomplished so much together! Just recently we sent dozens and dozens of inner-city children to a trip to visit UCLA. Children and teens now have a dream to do more than live in the streets, or be bound by drugs. They see themselves as future doctors, dentists, lawyers, teachers, and more! Thank you for making it possible to change the course of our children’s lives!! We are so appreciative that you contribute towards such a great cause! If you would like to make a contribution towards this cause, and more great causes like this, you can donate today.

Here’s how to donate:

Declaration Prayer:

Father, thank you for helping me overcome sin. You have given me freedom and power from sin and death! Thank you for empowering me to obey you and your word. I want to glorify you in everything that I do! Forgive me of every sin, and help me to live for you! IN Jesus’ Name, Amen!

Anytime you have a thought about sin, pause and take that thought captive by praying and speaking a scripture over your life!
