What two things do you consider yourself to be very good at?

“Be Like Jesus”

When we think like Jesus, He will blow your mind. We should imitate God and have a desire to be like God. Hear His thoughts, act like God, Love like God, and give endless Grace like God.

Ephesians 5:12 AMP 5 Therefore become imitators of God [copy Him and follow His example], as well-beloved children [imitate their father]; 2 and walk continually in love [that is, value one another—practice empathy and compassion, unselfishly seeking the best for others], just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and sacrifice to God [slain for you, so that it became] a sweet fragrance.

We shouldn’t follow the world’s example or the customs of the worlds example, the patterns of the world. We should be like Jesus. If the word of God says it is sin, its a sin. Follow His example. We have to let Jesus lead our lives and mimic Him in everything that we do and become like Jesus.

Imitate: to follow as a pattern, model, or example, mimic, to be or appear like, resemble, to produce a copy of.

Q1: What character of Jesus would you want to begin mimicking?

Mark 8:36 NKJV 36 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?

Matthew 6:33  NLT 33 Seek the Kingdom of God[a] above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

“Chasing after things is not the goal, to be like Jesus is the goal”. We should be saying, “I want to be like Jesus”. If we seek first the Kingdom of God everything else will be added to us.

Q2: When people look at you, how do they see Jesus in you? Give examples.

What Kind of Results Do You Get When You Become More Like Jesus:

1. The more we become like Jesus, the more people we can win for the Kingdom of Heaven.

John 8:12 NLT 12 Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.”

Matthew 5:14 NIV 14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

When we become like Jesus, we will see more souls saved. WE are the light of the world and we can shine a light into this dark world. We can walk into a room and Jesus can take over the atmosphere. The results we get when we become more like God, cannot be substituted.

Q3. If we are the light of the world, why is it important to shine the light of Jesus everywhere you go?

2.You will walk with power.

John 21:25 NLT 25 Jesus also did many other things. If they were all written down, I suppose the whole world could not contain the books that would be written.

The more we become like Jesus, the greater power we can walk in! The miracles that we see written in the bible is just a snippet of what Jesus did.

Q4. Share a miracle you have seen Jesus do in your life.

When we become more like Christ, our kids become more like Christ. There are things in life that the enemy is trying to interweave and is trying to get the Christians and the world to coexist. We cannot coexist with the world and become like Jesus at the same time. Once the world seeps in, we lose the image of God and we can lose the power and anointing of Jesus Christ. We don’t get power being like the world. We get power when we mimic our savior Jesus Christ.

Act 5:15-16 15 As a result of the apostles’ work, sick people were brought out into the streets on beds and mats so that Peter’s shadow might fall across some of them as he went by. 16 Crowds came from the villages around Jerusalem, bringing their sick and those possessed by evil[a] spirits, and they were all healed.

Jesuses shadow became Peters shadow, that is how much he was mimicking Jesus. These scriptures are not just fairytales, this is not only for Peter, this is for you and me!

Q5. How many of you would want to walk into a place and someone becomes healed? When was the last time you prayed for your shadow to heal somebody?

How Do We Become More Like Jesus?

  • I need His heart.

Ezekiel 36:26 26 And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart.

Before Jesus, our hearts are stubborn. Even now, we might have a stubborn heart, but Jesus will take that heart and give us a heart transplant.

  • I need His mind.

1 Corinthians 2:16  NIV 16 for, “Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?”  But we have the mind of Christ.

WE have the mind of Christ, but we must read our bible everyday to get our mind renewed. Everyday we need to renew our minds, so we think like Jesus. We apply the word of God, prayer, bible study, and bible classes. God can give us a heart transplant and renew our minds so we can act and think like Christ daily.

We are preparing to complete our 15th year of ministry, and enter year 16! We have accomplished so much together! Just recently we sent dozens and dozens of inner-city children to a trip to visit UCLA. Children and teens now have a dream to do more than live in the streets, or be bound by drugs. They see themselves as future doctors, dentists, lawyers, teachers, and more! Thank you for making it possible to change the course of our children’s lives!! We are so appreciative that you contribute towards such a great cause! If you would like to make a contribution towards this cause, and more great causes like this, you can donate today.

Here’s how to donate:

  1. Download The Way World Outreach App

  2. Click Give

  3. Change the fund to "Care Group Offering"

  4. Write down the group leader's name in memo line

Father, thank you for helping me to be a Godly example wehrever I go. Help me to remember that people are watching me, and I must continually represent you well. Lord, help me to be a reflection of your love and walk in your holiness! Thank you for your grace, that empowers me and lifts me up! Thank you Jesus for choosing me! In Jesus’ Name, amen!

Make this a week that you intentionally walk out the plan that JESUS has for you by reflecting him in your walk. Focus on how you’re speaking, your attitudes, and the way you respond to people and ask yourself “what would Jesus do?”

Note for Leaders: Take prayer requests and praise reports. Keep a good record of this. Follow up on prayer requests and celebrate praise reports.
