Name 1 thing you're thankful for?
The purpose of this lesson is to help us become a miracle for someone in need.
Mark 2:1-12 NLT A few days later, when Jesus again entered Capernaum, the people heard that he had come home. 2 They gathered in such large numbers that there was no room left, not even outside the door, and he preached the word to them. 3 Some men came, bringing to him a paralyzed man, carried by four of them. 4 Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus by digging through it and then lowered the mat the man was lying on. 5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”
6 Now some teachers of the law were sitting there, thinking to themselves, 7 “Why does this fellow talk like that? He’s blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?”
8 Immediately Jesus knew in his spirit that this was what they were thinking in their hearts, and he said to them, “Why are you thinking these things? 9 Which is easier: to say to this paralyzed man, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up, take your mat and walk’? 10 But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the man, 11 “I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.” 12 He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all. This amazed everyone and they praised God, saying, “We have never seen anything like this!”
We naturally grow up more selfish. We have to learn how to be selfless and how to care for others. Today we're going to talk about being a miracle for someone else that's in need.
Q1 - Can you recall a time in your life that someone was a "miracle" for you?
1. Say "Yes God, Use me!"
Isaiah 6:8 NLT Then I heard the Lord asking, "Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?" I said, "Here I am. Send me."
Q2 - Where is the biggest need that you see around you?
Q3 - Have you ever been led to talk to someone about God?
Q4 - What are some of the biggest challenges you face when it comes to meeting someone's need?
Q5 - Do you believe that God wants to use you to make an difference in someone's life?
2. Learn to put others before yourself
Philippians 2:3-7 NIV Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. 5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; 7 rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.
Q6 - How do you put others above yourself?
Q7 - How does putting others above ourselves help us to look more like Jesus?
Q8 - Are you putting yourself in position to be a help for someone else? How can you improve?
I declare that I will answer the call to be a miracle for someone else! I believe God is calling me to make a difference in someone else's life. I believe that God has given me resources and gifts to meet someone's need with God's love. God, send me, I'll go!
