We are currently raising finances for backpacks for boys and girls going back to school. Who was your favorite elementary school teacher and why?

Main Scripture:

Colossians 3:12-17 NLT

12 Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. 13 Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. 14 Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. 15 And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.

16 Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. 17 And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.

When people see you, they either get a glimpse of the love of God, or they see someone who says one thing but lives another. We are in a place where churches everywhere have compromised to the point that they look just like the world. Where do we draw line, and when is enough enough? Let's get to the point that we begin to act like the person that we say we are, and that we live a life that represents God well.

Q1 - Our first question is going to come out strong. In your opinion, what does a hypocrite look like?

Q2 - If you were being honest with the group, what would you say is an area in your life that you can represent God better?

Q3 - Why do you think our actions speak louder than words?

DEFINITION OF CHRISTIAN: one who follows the teachings of Jesus Christ; a disciple.

1. Full of Love

2 Corinthians 13:5 TLB Check up on yourselves. Are you really Christians? Do you pass the test? Do you feel Christ’s presence and power more and more within you? Or are you just pretending to be Christians when actually you aren’t at all?

Q4 - How often do you think we should "check up on ourselves" like the scripture is saying?

Q5 - Take a second right now and evaluate your love for others. Do you pass the test?

2. a servant

Matthew 23:11-12 NLT 11 The greatest among you must be a servant. 12 But those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.

Q6 - How are you personally able serve others on a day to day basis?

Q7 -  How much does your attitude play a part in being a servant?

Q8 - How has God been generous to you?

Q9 - How are you generous to other?

I declare that I will live like a true Christian! I will not be covered in compromise and live a lukewarm life! I will show that I am a Christian by my actions, my character, my love, my service, and my generosity. Thank you Jesus for saving me and giving me the privilege of living a Christian life!

Your homework for this week: Read 1 Corinthians 13 and evaluate your life. Ask yourself if you are living a life full of love.
