Go around the group and have everyone say their name, where they're from, and their favorite hobby.

Main Scripture:

Psalms 37: 23-24 NLT
23 The Lord directs the steps of the godly.
He delights in every detail of their lives.
24 Though they stumble, they will never fall,
for the Lord holds them by the hand.

It's in the tough, painful moments of our lives that we must force ourselves to understand something: God is still in control! We don't always have all the answers, but there is something very encouraging that we can all cling to, and that is that God is using this difficult situation to  set you up for a great breakthrough! Don't look at the cup half empty, but see it as half full and believe that the best is yet to come!

Q1 - How important is it to have the right perspective in the middle of a storm?

Q2 - What could be a consequence if we have the wrong perspective when facing difficulties?

1. nothing can stop what god has ordered for you

Psalms 37: 23 NLT
23 The Lord directs the steps of the godly.
He delights in every detail of their lives.

Directs/Ordered: (kuwn, koon) to set up, to  appoint, to prepare to be established, to be fixed, to become immovable.

Q3 - If God orders our steps, what kind of future do you think He has planned for His children?

Q4 - Why do you think we sometimes worry if God is setting us up our steps success?

2. Don't isolate a single experience as the end of the story

Daniel 3: 16-18 NLT 16 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego replied, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you. 17 If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God whom we serve is able to save us. He will rescue us from your power, Your Majesty. 18 But even if he doesn’t, we want to make it clear to you, Your Majesty, that we will never serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have set up.”

Q5 - If you feel comfortable, share about a recent experience in your life that has challenged you.

Q6 - How can your difficult experiences begin to help you rather than hurt you

3. Keep doing right, even when it looks like it's getting worse

Galatians 6:9 NLT So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.

Q7 - Why do you think God uses resistance to help us grow stronger?

Q8 - In your life, what is the "good" thing that you should not get tired of doing?

Q9 - What harvest are you believing God for?

I declare that I will trust God, even in the midst of the storm! I declare that my life is in His hands and I have nothing to fear. I declare that my steps are ordered by God, and I believe God is setting me up for something great! Thank you Jesus! Amen!

Can you hold onto your praise even if it doesn't go your way? Try catching yourself every time something is trying to steal your praise, and at that moment, begin to give God extra praise!
