The purpose of this lesson is to help us understand how to receive more from God and what barriers may keep us from receiving more.
Philippians 2.13 NLT For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.
There are certain facts we must understand in order to see more in our lives. The first fact is that God will do more through us. Say this: "God wants to do more through me!" If God is going to do more, he is going to do it through people. Secondly, God does all His work in us and and through us. Whether God wants to save, feed, or love people, He will do it through us. However, there are certain barriers that may keep us from doing more.
Q1- Are we allowing God to do more through us? Or have we been preventing God to do more through us?
Q2 - What you desire will determine what you see more of in life. How have your desires effected your "more"?
barriers that keep us from doing more
1. We're not expecting more because we don't know there's more
John 14.12 NLT "I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father."
Q3 - What are some things that might keep us from knowing there's more for us?
Q4 - What are some things you are expecting to do more of that you haven't already?
Q5 - We will never see more when we're focused on the past. Is there something from your past that still captures your focus?
2. We have not defined our more
Mark 10.51 "What do you want me to do for you?" Jesus asked. "My rabbi," the blind man said, "I want to see!"
Q6- If God asked you what you want more of, would you know what to say?
Exercise: Find a partner in your group and practice defining what your "More" is. Afterwards, come back together as a group and repeat the declaration.
Declaration: I declare that I will not allow the barriers to keep me from my more! I declare that my desires align with the vision that God has prepared for me. I expect more from God because I KNOW and believe there is more for me!
Write down on paper and define what your more is. Share this vision with someone this week and encourage them to do define their more as well.
