Icebreaker: Christmas is right around the corner! What is one thing you wanted for Christmas as a kid?
Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to show us how to have a life full of vision and seeing that vision come to pass!
Habakkuk 2:2-3 NLT Then the LORD said to me, "Write my answer plainly on tablets, so that a runner can carry the correct message to others. This vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed.
Discussion: Some of us don't realize this, but we have the ability to see into the future. It's called "vision." Our vision determines the course of our lives. We can have vision for our relationships, businesses, careers, family, ministry, and even our health.
Vision: revelation of God's future and will for our lives. Vision is a picture of what our lives are meant to be and what we're supposed to accomplish. Vision describes the future.
Q1 - If you could look into the future of your life right now, what would you expect to see?
Q2 - When you think about your future, what kind of emotion do you feel? Excitement or fear?
3 Steps to seeing every vision come to pass
1. Get a vision
Habakkuk 2:3 This vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed.
Q3 - What do you believe God's will is for your life in 2018?
Jeremiah 33:3 NLT Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come.
Q4 - When was the last time you asked God to show you some vision for your life?
2. Believe in the vision
Romans 4:17 NLT That is what the Scriptures mean when God told him, "I have made you the father of many nations." This happened because Abraham believed in the God who brings the dead back to life and who creates new things out of nothing.
Q5 - Vision will come to pass not based on ability, but based on faith. How can you depend on God's Spirit more than you depend on your own ability?
Q6 - Do you believe that what God says, He will do? Share an example of God fulfilling a promise in your life.
3. Take Action
Q7 - Every vision will come with faith instructions. Share some vision you have and what instructions you believe will help you fulfill that vision.
Q8 - How much different would your life look if you looked at it with greater vision?
Declaration: I declare that I will walk with vision in every area of my life! I receive the vision God has for me, and I will fulfill God's promises! I believe in the plan of God for my life! I will trust God, and not deviate from His instructions!
Application: Let's take action this week by following the 3 steps to taking action!
3 Steps to Taking Action:
1. Write down the vision (pray and ask God to give you vision. Sit, listen, and write down what He shows you)
2. Speak the Vision (tell somebody about what you've written down)
3. Start today! (as soon as you receive it, look for ways you can begin moving toward that vision TODAY, not tomorrow)
