Ice Breaker

Christmas just passed! how was your Christmas this year?

The purpose of this lesson is to learn the reason why Jesus came to this earth. Part of the plan was to restore us, his children.

Main Scripture

Psalms 51:12 NKJV Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, And uphold me by Your generous Spirit.

David wrote that passage in psalms because he realized that he lost the joy of his salvation. The scary thing is, we can become a lukewarm believer and think that everything is okay.

Restore: to bring back to a state of health, soundness, or vigor. To bring to a former place, position, or rank. To bring back to the original state.

Q1- What are some things about God that bring your great joy? What can you be thankful for?

Q2-  What areas of your life need restoration? Can you relate to David for the fact that he needed some type of restoration?

Q3 - What do you believe God wants to restore in your life? Are you living the way God created you to be?

God's goal and his purpose is to be with you and for you to be in His presence. When we don't have God in our lives, we try and find that love and peace in other things.

John 14:3 NLT When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.

Q4 - God is saying that His purpose is to restore the relationship that we once had with him, which is why He sent His son. What are ways you can improve your relationship with God, and continually walk in His presence?

Q5 - The enemy is looking for those whom he may devour. What are ways you can "lock your door" to the enemy so that your relationship with God is unhindered?

Q6 - Has the enemy lied to you that you will never get something back?

Psalms 16:11 NLT You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.
God's destination for you has always been to Himself.

Q7 - In God's presence is everything (joy, peace, hope, strength, and so on). What do you need in your life right now that you can find in God's presence?

Q8 - Do you love anything more than you love God? How can you show that more in your actions?

Declaration:  I will walk with the presence of the Lord wherever I go. I will walk in God's restoration power. This new year will be the greatest year I have lived, because I will pursue more of God's presence than ever before!

Challenge yourself to walk in God's presence this week. Use the word you received this week to continue to walk in your God given identity. Avoid getting trapped in the enemy's bait for your life, and find your pleasure in The Lord!
