“The Power of 12, The Power to Turn It Around”
In America every single year, we are losing millions of people every year 27.4 million people. They aren’t moving to another faith they are not believing at all. We as a church are going to create a movement, so with a vision and a plan we can turn things around.
How do we turn these declining trends around?
1. Go back to original instructions, get back the basics.
Joshua 1:8 (NLT) 8 Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.
Q1. Can you share a time in your life that you or a family member experienced straying away from the instructions of God?
Q2. How does following the instructions of God turn around a situation.? Share a time when God turned it around for you?
Jesus’s original instructions to the church was to make disciples.
Matthew 28:18-20 (NLT)
18 Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations,[a] baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Q3. Why is it important to pay attention to Jesus when He is speaking to you?
We are here to learn, apply and teach. We are not just supposed to listen, but we have an assignment and a purpose to fulfill. Jesus set the pattern; disciples of Jesus Christ makes disciples of Jesus Christ.
Q4. Is Jesus speaking to you right now in this season?
Q5. What assignment is he calling you to do?
2. Get back to our original identity, we must identify ourselves as disciples of Jesus Christ.
Disciple – A disciple is one who follows the teachings, doctrines and lifestyles of a person who he considers to be a master of authority. A person who is learning under the close supervision of a teacher or someone with more experience.
Q6. How do we make sure that we are being disciples every day of our lives?
3. We must carry out the original mission and that mission is to make disciples and follow the pattern of Jesus Christ.
Matthew 10:1-5 (NLT)Jesus Sends Out the Twelve Apostles 10 Jesus called his twelve disciples together and gave them authority to cast out evil[a] spirits and to heal every kind of disease and illness. 2 Here are the names of the twelve apostles: first, Simon (also called Peter),
then Andrew (Peter’s brother),
James (son of Zebedee),
John (James’s brother),3 Philip,
Matthew (the tax collector),
James (son of Alphaeus),
Thaddaeus,[b] 4 Simon (the zealot[c]),
Judas Iscariot (who later betrayed him).5 Jesus sent out the twelve apostles with these instructions: “Don’t go to the Gentiles or the Samaritans,
Q7. Who is discipling you?
Q8. Who are you discipling?
Jesus we are the church and we will create a movement. We are called to be disciples of Jesus Christ and to make disciples of Jesus Christ. We will listen to your voice of authority and carry out the plan that you have given us. Amen!
I will follow you word and instructions. As I am being discipled, I will submit to the leadership that you have put over me and reteach what I am learning to those who I am discipling. I will identify myself as a disciple of Jesus Christ!
Our kids and youth are heading to camp! They will come back transformed, and their lives will never be the same again! Thank you for making contributions to help them receive healing and breakthrough. We’ve seen several stories of teens that were dealing with suicidal thoughts, but overcame because they had an encounter with God at camp.
