What did you dream of being when you were younger?
The purpose of this lesson is to challenge our thinking and refuel our faith about the mission that God has for each one of us. God has equipped us to be successful in every area of our lives.
Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. (Joshua 1:8)
God has designed each one of us with a purpose. He tells us in Jeremiah that the plans that He has for us are good. They are plans that will prosper us and not do us harm. These plans are for our future and hope (29:11). We know that if we keep God as the focus of our lives, and His Word as our guide, we will be successful in everything we put our hand to.
3 Leadership Levels
1. Pioneer- Goes out to take new territory
Jesus is our example. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross disregarding the shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God's throne (Hebrews 12:2).
Q1. Discuss ways in which Jesus was a pioneer? How did he change his community/culture?
Q2. Are there any areas where God is asking you to step out and take new territory?
2. Settlers- Builders
These leaders stick with the process and start to build the church. Rather speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from who, the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love (Ephesians 4:15-16)
Q3. What does it mean to build the church?
"We move together or we don't move" - Richard Montanez
Q4. Why is it important for each person to do their part in building the church?
3. Purposeful Leaders- develop other people.
Our goal must be to empower others to do what is right and good for them, and to bring them into spiritual maturity. (Romans 15:2 Passion translation)
Q5. How can we practically bring others to spiritual maturity?
Q6. Who was instrumental in your spiritual maturity?
3 steps to Success:
- Step to God
- Step to Jesus
- Step to the Holy Spirit
The blessing of the Lord makes a person rich, and he adds no sorrow with it. (Proverbs 10:22)
Q7. Why must God be the center of all of our success?
I declare that God is the center of my life. He is my guide; He is my strength and He will lead me to success!
