2 Timothy 1:9 (NLT) — “For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan from before the beginning of time—to show us his grace through Christ Jesus.”
- God did not only save us from something; He also called us to something.
- Every believer has a God-given purpose and mission.
- Our calling is not reserved for pastors, missionaries, or church leaders—it belongs to every follower of Jesus.
- Jesus gives every believer two simple calls: be a disciple and make disciples.
- Before we can help someone else follow Jesus, we must first make the decision to follow Him ourselves.

BE A DISCIPLE OF JESUS CHRIST!
Matthew 4:19 (AMP) — “And He [Jesus] said to them, ‘Follow Me as My disciples, accepting Me as your Master and Teacher and walking the same path of life that I walk, and I will make you fishers of men.’”
- Jesus does not simply call us to believe in Him; He calls us to follow Him.
- A disciple is someone who accepts Jesus as their Master and Teacher.
- Following Jesus means learning to think, live, obey, and love like Jesus.
- Discipleship is a process—we continue learning and becoming more like Christ throughout our lives.
- Our goal is not merely to attend church but to allow Jesus to change the way we live.

REAL DISCIPLES OBEY AND GROW!
John 8:31 (GNT) — “So Jesus said to those who believed in him, ‘If you obey my teaching, you are really my disciples.’”
- Jesus makes it clear that discipleship is more than simply saying we believe.
- Real disciples learn what Jesus teaches and put it into practice.
- Following Jesus means taking steps of obedience, including publicly identifying with Christ through baptism.
Acts 2:38 (NLT) — “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ…”
- Disciples also commit themselves to the process of learning, training, and becoming more like Jesus.
Luke 6:40 (NLT) — “Students are not greater than their teacher. But the student who is fully trained will become like the teacher.”
- Spiritual maturity does not happen automatically. As we learn from Jesus and obey Him, our lives begin to look more like His.

MAKE DISCIPLES OF JESUS CHRIST
Matthew 28:18–20 (NLT) — Jesus told His disciples, “Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations…” and, “Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you.”
- Making disciples is not just for church leaders—it is a command Jesus gave to every disciple.
- We cannot reproduce something we are not; we must first follow Jesus ourselves.
- Disciple-making begins when we invite someone else to follow Jesus with us.
- We can invite people to church, study the Bible with them, serve with them, pray with them, and help them take their next spiritual step.
- Making disciples requires time and relationship as we help people know God's Word and obey what Jesus teaches.
1 Corinthians 11:1 (AMPC) — “Pattern yourselves after me, follow my example, as I imitate and follow Christ.”
- Disciple-making is not simply telling someone what to do. It is being able to say, “Follow me as I follow Jesus.” Our example should help others learn what following Christ looks like.

When we allow genuine compassion to drive our generosity it invites God’s blessings into every aspect of our lives.
Deuteronomy 15:10-11 (NLT)
10 Give generously to the poor, not grudgingly, for the Lord your God will bless you in everything you do. 11 There will always be some in the land who are poor. That is why I am commanding you to share freely with the poor and with other Israelites in need.
