- Jesus did not just call us to believe in Him—He called us to follow Him and become like Him.
- One of the clearest assignments Jesus gave His followers was to go and make disciples. Making disciples is not only the pastor’s responsibility; it belongs to every follower of Jesus.
- It is possible to be busy doing many good things for God while neglecting one of the main things He commanded us to do.
- Jesus Himself was a disciple maker. He intentionally invested in people, taught them, walked with them, and prepared them to continue His mission.
- Today we are going to learn what it means to say, “Jesus is a disciple maker, and so am I!”

JESUS COMMANDS US TO MAKE DISCIPLES!
Matthew 28:18-20 (NLT) - 18 Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
- Making disciples is not a suggestion from Jesus; it is a command.
- The responsibility to make disciples belongs to every follower of Jesus, not just pastors or leaders.
- We can be busy doing many good things for God and still neglect the assignment He gave us: make disciples.
- Jesus does not send us alone. He gives us His authority and His presence to accomplish the mission.
John 14:15 (NLT) — “If you love me, obey my commandments.”
- One of the clearest ways we show our love for Jesus is by obeying what He told us to do.

JESUS SHOWED US HOW TO MAKE DISCIPLES!
Mark 3:13–14 (NLT) — “Afterward Jesus went up on a mountain and called out the ones he wanted to go with him. And they came to him. Then he appointed twelve of them and called them his apostles. They were to accompany him, and he would send them out to preach.”
- Jesus made disciples by inviting people to follow Him and spend time with Him.
- He did not only preach to crowds; He intentionally invested in smaller groups of people and taught them how to live like Him.
- Disciple-making is more than giving someone information; it means helping them follow Jesus, obey His teaching, and join His mission.
- Jesus trained His disciples so they could eventually go and do the same for others.
1 Corinthians 11:1 (NLT) — “And you should imitate me, just as I imitate Christ.”
- We make disciples by living in a way that gives others an example of what following Jesus looks like.

MAKING DISCIPLES REQUIRES RELATIONSHIP AND SACRIFICE!
1 Thessalonians 2:8 (NLT) — “We loved you so much that we shared with you not only God’s Good News but our own lives, too.”
- Making disciples is more than teaching a lesson; it means sharing life with people.
- Discipleship takes time, patience, love, and consistency, especially when people are struggling or making mistakes.
- Jesus did not abandon imperfect people. He walked with them, corrected them, forgave them, and kept helping them grow.
- If we want to make disciples like Jesus, we have to be willing to stay involved when the process gets messy.
Galatians 6:2 (NLT) — “Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ.”
- Part of disciple-making is being willing to carry burdens with people instead of only giving them advice.

EVERYONE HAS SOMEONE THEY CAN DISCIPLE!
Acts 1:8 (NLT) — “And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
- Jesus reminds us that our mission starts where we are and then expands outward—there is always someone within our reach whom God can use us to impact.
- God has already placed people within our sphere of influence whom we can help follow Jesus.
- We should begin with the people closest to us—family, friends, coworkers, and people we already know.
- Disciple-making also requires us to reach beyond our normal circle and build relationships with people we may not naturally choose.
- Instead of waiting for someone to come to us, we should intentionally look for people we can reach, encourage, and disciple.
