Who would like to share a highlight, praise report, or testimony from this week?
What did you learn from this week’s sermon?
What was your most important accomplishment this week?
When you hear the words “make disciples,” what do you think that actually looks like in everyday life?
JESUS COMMANDS US TO MAKE DISCIPLES!
Matthew 28:18-20 (NLT) - 18 Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
John 14:15 (NLT) — “If you love me, obey my commandments.”
Why do you think so many Christians see making disciples as someone else’s responsibility?
Mark 3:13–14 (NLT) — “Afterward Jesus went up on a mountain and called out the ones he wanted to go with him. And they came to him. Then he appointed twelve of them and called them his apostles. They were to accompany him, and he would send them out to preach.”
1 Corinthians 11:1 (NLT) — “And you should imitate me, just as I imitate Christ.”
What is one thing someone has done for you that helped you grow as a disciple of Jesus?
MAKING DISCIPLES REQUIRES RELATIONSHIP AND SACRIFICE!
1 Thessalonians 2:8 (NLT) — “We loved you so much that we shared with you not only God’s Good News but our own lives, too.”
Galatians 6:2 (NLT) — “Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ.”
What is the difference between giving someone advice and actually walking through life with them?
EVERYONE HAS SOMEONE THEY CAN DISCIPLE!
Acts 1:8 (NLT) — “And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Who are some people God has already placed in your life that you could begin intentionally discipling?
Based on what we learned today, what is one step you will take this week to become more intentional about making disciples like Jesus?
Giving generously ensures that we will have all that we need and that we become channels through which God's abundance flows to the lives of others.
And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.
Encourage everyone to give their tithes and offerings.
