- Jesus did not rely only on human strength or wisdom—He lived and ministered through the power of the Holy Spirit.
- The same Holy Spirit who was at work in Jesus also lives in every believer.
- God never intended for us to live the Christian life in our own strength.
- The Holy Spirit gives us power, wisdom, direction, help, and the ability to become more like Jesus.
- As followers of Jesus, we should learn to depend on the Holy Spirit in every area of our lives.

BE FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT!
Luke 4:1 (NLT) — “Then Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan River. He was led by the Spirit in the wilderness.”
- Jesus was full of the Holy Spirit.
- Jesus began His public ministry after the Holy Spirit came upon Him.
- If Jesus depended on the Holy Spirit to fulfill His purpose, we also need the Holy Spirit to fulfill ours.
- The Holy Spirit is not only for church services or ministry moments; we need His help in our families, relationships, work, decisions, and everyday lives.
- God has given every believer the privilege of living with His Spirit inside of them.
1 Corinthians 6:19 (NLT) — “Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God?”
- The Holy Spirit is not far away from us. God Himself has chosen to live in us through His Spirit.

LET THE HOLY SPIRIT LEAD YOU!
Galatians 5:25 (NLT) — “Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives.”
- Jesus did not simply have the Holy Spirit; He allowed the Holy Spirit to lead Him.
- The Holy Spirit led Jesus where God wanted Him to go, even when the path was difficult.
- Following the Spirit means choosing God’s direction over our own feelings, desires, or preferences.
- God wants to lead us in every part of our lives, not just our spiritual activities.
- The more we learn to follow the Spirit, the more our lives begin to line up with God’s purpose.
Romans 8:14 (NLT) — “For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.”
- Being Spirit-filled should affect who leads our lives. Instead of allowing our flesh, emotions, fear, or circumstances to control us, we learn to follow God’s Spirit.

THE HOLY SPIRIT EMPOWERS US TO SERVE OTHERS!
Acts 10:38 (NLT) — “And you know that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Then Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.”
- The Holy Spirit empowered Jesus to help people.
- Jesus used the power He received to preach the Good News, meet needs, bring freedom, and restore broken lives.
- The power of the Holy Spirit is not given to us simply for our own benefit.
- God empowers us so that we can continue the work of Jesus in the world around us.
- Through the Holy Spirit, ordinary believers can boldly share Jesus, love people, meet needs, pray for others, and make disciples.
Acts 1:8 (NLT) — “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere…”
- One of the primary purposes of the Holy Spirit’s power is to help us represent Jesus and reach people with the Gospel.

THE HOLY SPIRIT MAKES US MORE LIKE JESUS!
Galatians 5:22–23 (NLT) — “But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.”
- The Holy Spirit does not only give us power; He also changes our character.
- Jesus was filled with the joy of the Holy Spirit, and the early believers were filled in the same way.
- As we allow the Holy Spirit to work in us, He produces the attitude and character of Jesus.
- Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, and self-control are evidence that God is transforming us from the inside out.
- We should continually ask God to fill us and allow the Holy Spirit to work more deeply in our lives.
Ephesians 5:18 (NLT) — “Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit.”
- God wants us to live continually dependent upon His Spirit. Jesus also taught that our Heavenly Father willingly gives the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him.

When we allow genuine compassion to drive our generosity it invites God’s blessings into every aspect of our lives.
Deuteronomy 15:10-11 (NLT)
10 Give generously to the poor, not grudgingly, for the Lord your God will bless you in everything you do. 11 There will always be some in the land who are poor. That is why I am commanding you to share freely with the poor and with other Israelites in need.
