3 Truths about Vision and Visionaries.

2/3 Lesson on "Building a Vision"

Truth #4 - Visionaries pray for vision and Wisdom.

Vision and Wisdom must be married to give birth to vision coming to pass. Vision is the "what" and wisdom is the "how."

A. The Holy Spirit wants to reveal the future to us. 

  • He desires to give us God’s vision for our future, our family, business, church, D.G, relationships, city, nation, finances, etc. . . 
  • God wants us to see what He sees and get alignment of what He wants for our lives.

John 16:13 (NLT) 13 When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future.

B. God promises to give wisdom for all who ask for it faith. 

  • We will not receive vision or wisdom if we don’t ask God for it or don’t believe that He wants to give it to us.

James 1:5-6 (CEB) 5 But anyone who needs wisdom should ask God, whose very nature is to give to everyone without a second thought, without keeping score. Wisdom will certainly be given to those who ask. 6 Whoever asks shouldn’t hesitate. They should ask in faith, without doubting. Whoever doubts is like the surf of the sea, tossed and turned by the wind. 7 People like that should never imagine that they will receive anything from the Lord.

C. We can ask God for complete knowledge of His will and wisdom for our lives. 

  • We can ask for knowledge and wisdom for our D.G’s, ministries, families, finances, businesses, city, nation. It is the person who asks, receives. 
Colossians 1:9 (NLT) 9 So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding.

Action step: Pray this prayer daily over ourselves and our disciples.

Truth #5 - Visionaries have a vision of a future that is far greater
than their present or past successes.

They see more disciples and leaders being developed than ever, they see increased resources and abundance more than they have ever
experienced, greater victories, influence, power, anointing, multiplication, wisdom, excellence, effectiveness, health, wealth, better systems, etc. .

A. Our God has Greater vision for our lives than what we have ever experienced. 

  • Let’s align our vision, Confessions and faith to His not with with our fears, doubts, present circumstance or past.

Isaiah 43:18-19 (NLT) 18 “But forget all that—it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. 19 For I am about to do something new. (fresh, give you new song of praise, new harvest, new vision and strategies, ) See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.

Will make: (samah) lay hands on and cause to grow abundantly, restore, transform, bring to pass,

Truth #6- Visionaries know what they want.

A. Visionaries ask themselves and answer two questions.
(Q-1) What kind of Church, Ministry, family, DG, Business do I
want?
(Q-2) What kind of person, leader, pastor, husband,
businessman, etc. . . Do I want to be?

B. God asked Solomon what He wanted.
1 Kings 3:5 (CEV) One night while Solomon was in Gibeon, the Lord God appeared to him in a dream and said, “Solomon, ask for anything you want, and I will give it to you.”

C. Solomon knew what He wanted.
1 Kings 3:9 (CEV) Please make me wise and teach me the difference between right and wrong. Then I will know how to rule your people. If you don't, there is no way I could rule this great nation of yours.

D. God gave Solomon what He wanted and more.
1 Kings 3:10-14 (CEV)10-11 God said: Solomon, I'm pleased that you asked for this. You could have asked to live a long time or to be rich. Or you could have asked for your enemies to be destroyed. Instead, you asked for wisdom to make right decisions. 12 So I'll make you wiser than anyone who has ever lived or ever will live. 13 I'll also give you what you didn't ask for. You'll be rich and respected as
long as you live, and you'll be greater than any other king. 14 If you obey me and follow my commands, as your father David did, I'll let you live a long time.
