“BUILDING A VISION”

3 Truths about Vision and Visionaries.

Vision: mental picture, the ability to see in your mind the way
things ought to be, dream, an objective strongly desired,
Revelation ( a spiritual down load from the Holy Spirit of God’s
desired future for our lives.)

Truth #1 - We will never have a greater future unless we envision it, are excited about it, and believe it will come to pass

A. The confession of a visionary.

Proverbs 23:18 (NABRE) For you will surely have a (bright) future, and your hope (wishes, desires) will not be cut off. (They Will come true)


Personal Declaration: “For I will surely have a bright future and all of my hopes, wishes and desires will not be cut off, everyone of them will come true!”

B. The vision, faith and confession of a visionary. 

  • It happened exactly the way David envisioned and declared it to be.
1 Samuel 17:46, 51 (NLT) 46 Today the Lord will conquer you, and I will kill you and cut off your head. And then I will give the dead bodies of your men to the birds and wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel! . 51 Then David ran over and pulled Goliath’s sword from its sheath. David used it to kill him and cut off his head.

Truth #2- Before a vision is conceived faith must first be built.

A. Before the Holy Spirit gives us a big vision, He first gives a big hunger for the Word of God. 

  • Because it is exposure to the word of God that builds our faith to receive the promises and Vision that he has pre-determined to give us. 
Job 23:12 (ERV) I always obey his commands. I love the words from his mouth more than I love my food. 

Psalms 119:131 (ERV) My desire to hear your commands is so strong that I wait with open mouth, gasping for breath. 

(EASY) I want very much to know your commands, like a thirsty dog needs water to drink. 

(AMPC) I opened my mouth and panted with eager desire, for I longed for Your commandments.

B. The fulfillment of vision happened as a result of first hearing the Word of God and believing it. 

  • Abraham first heard it, then believed it and then it happened.
Romans 4:17 (NLT) That is what the Scriptures mean when God told him, “I have made you the father of many nations.” This happened because Abraham believed in the God. . .

Truth #3- Visionaries get frustrated with the Status quo.

Visionaries are not OK with mediocrity, average, failure, lack, just surviving, stagnation, decrease, new believers not being discipled into maturity, just surviving, apathy. They believe there is more, a solution, a better way, abundance, success, victory, etc...

A. Visionaries are willing over turn the tables to see vision come to pass.

Get rid of what doesn’t work, what is wrong, willing to change, Rock the boat, be comfortable, sacrifice for a better future or take care of the people more effectively, to make it what it should be.
