GROWTH QUESTION #3

What was your most important accomplishment this week?

5 THINGS WE ARE DOING DURING TO REMEMBER THE PASSION AND RESURRECTION OF OUR LORD AND SAVIOR.

1) PASSIONATELY ATTEND AND SERVE. (Passion Wednesday 7pm, Good Friday 6am & 6pm, Easter/Resurrection Sunday; Sunrise service 6am, 8 am, 10am, 12pm, 2:30 pm Spanish.)

2) PASSIONATELY INVITE. (Everyone invite 10 and bring at least one. Let’s fill every seat, all the overflows,in every service. Let’s make disciples of Jesus Christ and help as many people come to know Jesus and receive the free gift of eternal life.)

3) PASSIONATELY GIVE. (One of the greatest ways we can show our love and gratitude for our Lord a Savior Jesus Christ is by bringing Him a resurrection offering. Let’s give this offering in faith, believing that God will resurrect an area, a person that we want to be saved, or breakthrough we are believing God for.)

4) PASSIONATELY FAST. (On Good Friday, we will Fast all day until Good Friday service. The purpose is to crucify our fleshly desires so we can walk in the spirit unhindered.)

5) PASSIONATELY STUDY THE BIBLE. (Join us everyday as we study The 7 “I Am” Declarations of Jesus. The purpose of these daily devotions is to get to know Jesus in a deeper way.)

TODAY’S PASSAGE:

Luke 14:15-24 (NLT)
15 Hearing this, a man sitting at the table with Jesus exclaimed, “What a blessing it will be to attend a banquet in the Kingdom of God!”

16 Jesus replied with this story: “A man prepared a great feast and sent out many invitations. 17 When the banquet was ready, he sent his servant to tell the guests, ‘Come, the banquet is ready.’ 18 But they all began making excuses. One said, ‘I have just bought a field and must inspect it. Please excuse me.’ 19 Another said, ‘I have just bought five pairs of oxen, and I want to try them out. Please excuse me.’ 20 Another said, ‘I just got married, so I can’t come.’

21 “The servant returned and told his master what they had said. His master was furious and said, ‘Go quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and invite the poor, the crippled, the blind, and the lame.’ 22 After the servant had done this, he reported, ‘There is still room for more.’ 23 So his master said, ‘Go out into the country lanes and behind the hedges and urge anyone you find to come, so that the house will be full. 24 For none of those I first invited will get even the smallest taste of my banquet.’”

opening question

What stands out to you in this story?

INTRODUCTION

  • God’s invitation is not small or reluctant - it is wide, generous, and ongoing.

  • In this parable, Jesus challenges who we think is “in.”
    • This story shows us:
    • How inclusive God’s heart really is
    • The danger of excuses
    • The reality that there is still room for more

truth #1

GOD’S INVITATION IS GENEROUS

Luke 14:16–17 (NLT) - Jesus replied with this story: “A man preparedgreat feast and sent out many invitations. When the banquet waready, he sent his servant to tell the guests, ‘Come, the banquet is ready.’”

  • God doesn’t just offer scraps; He prepares a great feast.

  • This great feast represents abundance, joy, and celebration.

  • The invitation is intentional, personal, and sent out ahead of time.

  • God is saying, “Come” to all of us. He desires your presence.

  • The Kingdom is not earned; it is received through a simple invitation.

  • Isaiah 25:6 (NLT) - “In Jerusalem, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies will spread a wonderful feast for all the people of the world…”

INTERACTIVE QUESTION

When you hear that God has prepared something good for you, how do you feel? Excited, hesitant, unworthy, or something else? Why?

truth #2

GOD’S INVITATION IS SURPRISING

Luke 14:21 (NLT) - So his master said, “Go quickly into the streets and alleys of the townandinvitethe poor, the crippled, the blind, and the lame.”

  • God intentionally invites those who are often overlooked or excluded.

  • The Kingdom is not built on status, success, or worthiness—but on grace.

1 Corinthians 1:27-28 (NLT) - Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shamthose who think they are wise…

  • God’s invitation breaks social, cultural, and spiritual barriers.

  • Only those who recognize their need will be ready to respond.

  • The greatest barrier to responding is believing you’re good without God.

INTERACTIVE QUESTION

Who in your world might feel overlooked, overlooked by others—but not by God? What can you do this week to reach them?

truth #3

GOD IS STILL INVITING AND THERE IS STILL ROOM

Luke 14:22-23 (NLT) - After the servant had done this, he reported, “There is still room for more.” So his master said, “Go out into the country lanes and behind the hedges and urge anyone you find to come, so that the house will be full.”

  • No matter how many have come, God’s house is not too full.

  • The servant is sent again. Invitation requires intentional action.

  • God’s heart is not just invitation—it is pursuit (“urge anyone you find to come”).

  • God is actively seeking more people. His plan to reach people is accomplished through people who go.

  • God is not trying to keep people out—He’s doing everything possible to bring people in. And even now… there is still room for more.

2 Corinthians 5:20 (NLT) - So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us

CHALLENGE for the whole DG:

    • Everyone pull out your phone
    • Go to thewayinvite.com
    • Invite 1 person right now to Easter Sunday
    • Invite at least 10 people this week.

closing QUESTION

What is the name of the one person you’re bringing to our Easter services this week?

GIVING

True giving is measured by the sacrificial love behind the gift rather than its monetary value.

Mark 12:42-44 (NLT) 42 Then a poor widow came and dropped in two small coins. 43 Jesus called his disciples to him and said, “I tell you the truth, this poor widow has given more than all the others who are making contributions. 44 For they gave a tiny part of their surplus, but she, poor as she is, has given everything she had to live on.”

Encourage everyone to give their tithes and offerings.
