TODAY’S PASSAGE:

Hebrews 9:27-28 (NLT) - 27 And just as each person is destined to die once and after that comes judgment, 28 so also Christ was offered once for all time as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people. He will come again, not to deal with our sins, but to bring salvation to all who are eagerly waiting for him.

EVERY PERSON WILL STAND BEFORE GOD!

Hebrews 9:27 (NLT) - And just as each person is destined to die once and after that comes judgment,

  • Death is not the end of our existence.

  • Every person will one day stand before God.

  • This life matters because eternity is real.

  • We do not get unlimited chances to decide what we will do with Jesus.

Romans 14:12 (NLT) - Yes, each of us will give a personal account to God.

  • At the end of our lives, we will stand before God and give an account.

JESUS DIED TO TAKE AWAY OUR SINS!

Hebrews 9:28a (NLT) - So also Christ was offered once for all time as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people. 

  • Jesus died as a sacrifice for our sins.

  • Sin separates people from God, but Jesus made the way for us to be forgiven.

  • The sacrifice of His sinless life is enough to cover all of our sin for all time. 

1 Peter 3:18 (NLT) - Christ suffered for our sins once for all time. He never sinned, but he died for sinners to bring you safely home to God.

  • We cannot save ourselves through good works, religion, or trying harder.

  • The only answer for sin is the finished work of Jesus.

JESUS IS COMING BACK!

Hebrews 9:28b (NLT) - He will come again, not to deal with our sins, but to bring salvation to all who are eagerly waiting for him.

  • Jesus came the first time to die for our sins, to pay the price for every sin. 

  • When He died on the cross, He could finally say, “It is finished,” because that part of His mission was complete.

  • When He comes again, He is coming to gather all those who have placed their faith in His finished work.  

  • He will be looking for those who are eagerly awaiting His return.

Titus 2:12-13 (NLT) - 12 And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God, 13 while we look forward with hope to that wonderful day when the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be revealed.

  • A person who is eagerly waiting for Jesus has turned away from godless living and sinful pleasures.

  • Their life will be marked with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God.

A PRAYER OF SALVATION:

Jesus, I know that I have sinned against you. I believe that you took the punishment that I deserve so that I may be forgiven. I believe you died on the cross and rose from the dead to save me. I repent for all of my sins, and I ask for your forgiveness. I place my trust in You for salvation. I confess You as my Lord and Savior. I surrender my life to you, Jesus. Help me to live for you for the rest of my life. Thank You for Your wonderful grace. I receive, by faith, your gift of forgiveness and eternal life! 
In Jesus' name, I pray, Amen! 

GIVING

True giving is measured by the sacrificial love behind the gift rather than its monetary value.

Mark 12:42-44 (NLT)
42 Then a poor widow came and dropped in two small coins. 43 Jesus called his disciples to him and said, “I tell you the truth, this poor widow has given more than all the others who are making contributions. 44 For they gave a tiny part of their surplus, but she, poor as she is, has given everything she had to live on.”

Encourage everyone to give their tithes and offerings.
