TODAY’S PASSAGE:

Habakkuk 2:2-3 (ESV) – 2 And the Lord answered me: “Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it. 3 For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.”

TRUTH #1

Any area that you want to succeed in, you must first have vision in.

  • If we want to succeed in our marriage, relationship, ministry, business, finances, or our spiritual life, we must first get a vision of God’s desired future for us.
  • Proverbs 29:18 (KJV) – Where there is no vision, the people perish…
  • DEFINITION – Perish: die out, give up, fail, end in ruin, lack discipline or restraint, be discouraged, depressed, and hopeless
  • In every area that we lack vision, we will perish.

TRUTH #2

All who ask God for vision will get it.

If we’re not asking, we won’t get the vision.

  • James 4:2 (NKJV) – …you do not have because you do not ask.
  • God wants to give us vision for our future so it’s okay to ask Him for it.
  • John 16:13 (NLT) – When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future.

TRUTH #3

To accomplish a vision it must first be written down.

  • In order to accomplish the vision, we need to make it clear on paper first.
  • Habakkuk 2:2 (ESV) – …Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it.
  • This is a command of God. It is a necessary step that we can’t afford to miss.
  • What we write down, we are committing to.
  • If you don’t have the faith to write the vision, you don’t have the faith to accomplish the vision.
  • STAT: Only 3% of people have written goals, and they are 10 times more successful than the 97% combined.

TRUTH #4

You’ll never see a vision come to pass that you quit on.

  • Don’t quit on the vision, even if it seems slow.

Habakkuk 2:3 (ESV) – For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.”

  • We quit on the vision when we stop believing in the vision, declaring the vision, working on the vision, and praying for the vision.

Luke 18:1 (NLT) – One day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up.

  • Be patient with the process.
  • No great vision is accomplished overnight.
  • Every great vision requires endurance and persistence in order to be fulfilled.

Galatians 6:9 (NLT) So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up

Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, “I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test!
