HOW TO ACHIEVE A “GOD GOAL”?
1st step - get a "god goal".
A. JESUS HAD A “GOD GOAL”.
- A "God Goal" is not about doing our will but doing the will of God who has sent us.
- The will of God is all about reaching, loving and discipling the people that God has assigned to us all and not losing one of them.
- It is God's will that we take responsibility of those He has assigned to us and disciple them into spiritual maturity.
John 6:38-39 (NIV) 38 For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. 39 And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all those he has given me, but raise them up at the last day.
B. NOTHING MORE SATISFYING THAN GETTING A “GOD GOAL” AND ACCOMPLISHING IT.
B. NOTHING MORE SATISFYING THAN GETTING A “GOD GOAL” AND ACCOMPLISHING IT.
- Doing the will of God makes us strong and healthy both spiritually and emotionally.
- When we do God's will in His Spirit, there is no burn out there is only nourishment.
John 4:34 (AMPC) Jesus said to them, My food (nourishment) is to do the will (pleasure) of Him Who sent Me and to accomplish and completely finish His work.
Nourishment: (broma) food (of the soul) , meat, what truly satisfies the mind, maintenance, subsistence, provision
Insight: There is not greater motivator than having a sense of accomplishment.
C. PAUL HAD A “GOD GOAL” AND HE GAVE HIS WHOLE LIFE TO COMPLETING IT WITH JOY.
- Every “God Goal” has to do with telling people about the Good News about Jesus Christ and His wonderful Grace.
- Jesus is the one that has given every believer the Work of telling others about Him and the Grace He offers.
Acts 20:24 (NLT) But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God.
Finish: (teleioo/tel-i-o-o) complete, accomplish, bring to the end, fulfill, to carry through to completion, finishing what was given to me to complete.
Finish with Joy: (chara) gladness, great and exceeding joy. (In the original writings the Word joy included. Not just finish the work but finish it with joy.)
Acts 20:24 (BRG) 24 . . . so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.
Insight: It’s not just doing and finishing but doing it with the right attitude, an attitude of joy! When we do A God Goal in His Spirit, He gives us supernatural joy to do it in.
Good News of Grace: (charis) loving and merciful kindness, favor, joy, blessings, gift, that God bestows upon one who does not deserve it. God's kindness and favor given to sinners. The undeserved gift of forgiveness of sins, acceptance and eternal salvation that is received through faith in Christ alone.
2ND STEP - PUT “GOD GOAL” IN WRITING.
- We know that the disciples put the God Goal in writing because we have the scriptures that we read today.
- Not only did they put the God goal in writing, they tracked it.
- They tracked how many people were being saved and churches that they were launching.
A. A WRITTEN GOAL IS AN ACCEPTED GOAL.
- When we write down the goal, we are receiving it.
- It not only needs to be written once but over and over again and constantly updated and reviewed.
- We need to write down what God had shown us, what will happen what He has assigned us to do, what He has placed on our heart.
Revelation 1:19 (CEV) Write what you have seen and what is and what will happen after these things.
Insight: Write down what is and what will happen. Where you are at and where you are headed to. Point A and Point B.
B. A WRITTEN GOAL IS AN ACT OF FAITH - WE ARE WRITING DOWN WHAT WILL HAPPEN.
- When we write it down, it clarifies our vision and a clear vision fills us with hope, focus and grounds us.
- We are writing down what we believe will happen for sure.
Habakkuk 2:2-3 (NLV) 2 Then the Lord answered me and said, “Write down the special dream on stone so that one may read it in a hurry. 3 For it is not yet time for it to come true. The time is coming in a hurry, and it will come true. If you think it is slow in coming, wait for it. For it will happen for sure, and it will not wait.
Insight: A big reason we write it down is so we can read it over and over. That way we don’t lose our faith, passion, vision, or hope, nor let ourselves be distracted. God doesn’t change His mind, but we often slip into doubt and feel like giving up or downsizing our dreams. By rereading what we’ve written, we reignite the fire, passion, and clarity to wait, work, keep believing, and declare it until it comes to pass.
C. ANOTHER REASON WE PUT THE “GOD GOAL” IN WRITING BECAUSE EVERY DREAM NEEDS A TEAM.
- Runners are those who are called to help make The God Goal a reality.
- When we write down a God Goal clearly we can now share it boldly and clearly so that others can help us get it done.
- When a goal is written clearly, it doesn’t need a lot of explanation. Anyone can read on the run and understand it and run with it.
Habakkuk 2:2 (CEB) Then the Lord answered me and said, Write a vision, and make it plain upon a tablet so that a runner can read it.
Insight: One of the hardest things we will ever do is simplifying a vision so that anyone can read and understand it. That is why every goal needs to be written over and over and constantly updated and clarified.
- With every God goal there is a God plan. First, we receive right and declare the Vision that God gives us the plan and power to achieve it.
- We first say yes to vision then the how to comes.
B. TO GET A GOD PLAN WE MUST SPEND TIME WITH THE LORD AND SEEK HIM FOR A DIVINE DOWNLOAD.
- Nehemiah prayed and fasted for 4 months.
- 4 months of getting a download and a plan and just 52 days to execute plan and see the vision completed.
- A God plan accelerates how fast something can get done.
Nehemiah 1:4 (NLT) When I heard this, I sat down and wept. In fact, for days I mourned, fasted, and prayed to the God of heaven.
C. A MAJOR KEY TO CREATING AN EFFECTIVE PLAN IS BUILDING A PLANNING TEAM AROUND “GOD GOAL.”
C. A MAJOR KEY TO CREATING AN EFFECTIVE PLAN IS BUILDING A PLANNING TEAM AROUND “GOD GOAL.”
- We should all seek God, seek advice, and mentors.
- Make your top 12 a planning team.
- Read books, take good notes in these meetings and ask questions.
Proverbs 15:22 (NLT) Plans go wrong for lack of advice; many advisers bring success.
Proverbs 20:18 (NLT) Plans succeed through good counsel; don’t go to war without wise advice.
D. JESUS PLAN TO REACH THE ENTIRE WORLD IS DISCIPLE MAKING.
Proverbs 20:18 (NLT) Plans succeed through good counsel; don’t go to war without wise advice.
D. JESUS PLAN TO REACH THE ENTIRE WORLD IS DISCIPLE MAKING.
- Disciple making is not only a mission but a plan.
Matthew 28:18-20 (NLT) 18 Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
4TH STEP - TAKE MASSIVE, IMMEDIATE AND CONTINUOUS ACTION ON PLAN.
A. GOOD PLANNING AND HARD WORK ALWAYS LEAD TO PROSPERITY.
Proverbs 21:5 (NLT) Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity, but hasty shortcuts lead to poverty.
Hard Work: (harus/ha-roots) diligent, the decisive, the determined, eager like a desire for goal, constant and effort to accomplish something, attentive, and persistent in doing anything, those who pursue with persevere and attention.
B. ALL HARD WORK BRINGS PROFIT.
Proverbs 14:23 (NET) In all hard work there is profit, but merely talking about it only brings poverty.
Profit: (motar) abundance, gain, a raising to a higher rank, influence, degree, above average, excellence, greater quantity.
C. WHATEVER WE DO WE SHOULD DO IT WITH ALL OUR STRENGTH.

C. WHATEVER WE DO WE SHOULD DO IT WITH ALL OUR STRENGTH.
- The truth is after we leave this earth, they’ll be no more goal setting, planning, disciple making, or soul winning.
- The time is now to do the work of the Lord and finish His assignment on our lives.
Ecclesiastes 9:10 (CSBA) Whatever your hands find to do, do with all your strength, because there is no work, planning, knowledge, or wisdom in Sheol where you are going.
D. JESUS SAID THAT THE HARVEST IS RIPE BUT THE WORKERS ARE FEW.
- Without workers, we will not see a harvest of people brought to eternal life in Christ, new disciples being made, and leaders developed.
Matthew 9:37-38 (NLT) 37 He said to his disciples, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. 38 So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.”
Workers: (ergates) laborers, those who continue to work to the point of exhaustion. Those are move forward even when it is difficult, in order to accomplish and produce.
