A PRAYING LEADER (pt. 4)

PRAYER BUILDS A GODLY CHARACTER.

When we are faithful in prayer, we become faithful, trustworthy, responsible, Holy, blameless, honest, strong, loving, kind, patient, joyful, peaceful, etc.. We can not spend time with God and not be empowered, influenced and transformed to be more and more like Him.

Daniel 6:4-5 (NLT) 4 Then the other administrators and high officers began searching for some fault in the way Daniel was handling government affairs, but they couldn’t find anything to criticize or condemn. He was faithful, always responsible, and completely trustworthy. 5 So they concluded, “Our only chance of finding grounds for accusing Daniel will be in connection with the rules of his religion.”

The only way we will find him guilty is by making illegal to be Godly.

A. PRAYER KEEPS US CONNECTED TO CHRIST WHICH CAUSES US TO
PRODUCE HIS FRUIT AND DEVELOP HIS CHARACTER IN OUR LIVES.

John 15:5 (NLT) 5 “Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.

B. ANY AREA THAT WE DEVELOP ENDURANCE IN INCLUDING PRAYER LIFE
BUILDS OUR CHARACTER.

When we have developed a consistent prayer life our confidence in the Lord and also builds self-confidence. The point is building a Godly
character is a process that must include a disciplined prayer life.

Romans 5:3-4 (AMP) 3 And not only this, but [with joy] let us exult in our sufferings and rejoice in our hardships, knowing that hardship (distress, pressure, trouble) produces patient endurance; 4 and endurance, proven character (spiritual maturity); and proven character, hope and confident assurance of eternal salvation].

Endurance: (hypomone) steadfastness, constancy, describes a man that is not swerved from his deliberate purpose and His loyalty to faith, even under the greatest trials and sufferings, continuance,

Character: (dokime) proving through trial, approved, tried character, experience,
• Discipline yourself by choice or by force.
• Your character is getting better, more Godly or worse.
• Prayer gives us crazy confidence in God. (The confidence comes from hearing
from God.)
• A consistent prayer prepares us for breakthroughs and without it we end up with
break downs.
• Prayer is our spiritual work out. (We excercise all day.
• If I am not sore after working out a muscle that I have not been working out.

Quote: (John Wooden) “Talent will take you to the top but character will keep u
there.”
Quote: “Trust yourself, not trust in yourself.” (This is called confidence.)
