INCREASE MY DESIRE TO MAKE DISCIPLES


Purpose of teaching: Is to align our desires with God’s. Learn that when our desires align with His- God’s favor and manifestED presence will be with us. Most of all that our desire to make disciples of Jesus will become as strong as Jesus desireS to make disciples. 

Desire: (Dictionary Def.) want, wish, long for, to express a wish to obtain, to ask for, request.
Insight: We will not succeed in any area we don’t have a great desire in. 

1) AS LONG AS WE DESIRE HIM AND HIS WILL ABOVE EVERYTHING ELSE, GOD PROMISES TO GIVE US OUR HEART’S DESIRE. 

Psalm 37:4 (GNT) Seek your happiness in the Lord, and he will give you your heart's desire.
Quote: “When The Lord has our heart, He will give us what’s in our heart.”

 A. WHEN OUR DESIRES MATCH UP WITH HIS WILL- HE WILL GIVE US WHAT WE ASK FOR. 

1 John 5:14-15 (AMP) 14 This is the [remarkable degree of] confidence which we [as believers are entitled to] have before Him:
that [a]if we ask anything according to His will, [that is, consistent with His plan and purpose] He hears us. 15 And if we know
[for a fact, as indeed we do] that He hears and listens to us in whatever we ask, we [also] know [with settled and absolute
knowledge] that we have [granted to us] the requests which we have asked from Him.

B. GOD WILL NOT GRANT OUR REQUEST WHEN THEY DON’T ALIGN WITH HIS DESIRE AND PURPOSE FOR OUR LIVES. 

God is the blessing business not in the carnal and selfish pleasure business.


James 4:3 (AMP) 3 You ask [God for something] and do not receive it, because you ask [a]with wrong motives [out of
selfishness or with an unrighteous agenda], so that [when you get what you want] you may spend it on your [hedonistic]
desires.

2) GOD DESIRE IS THAT WE MAKE DISCIPLES OF JESUS CHRIST. PRESSURE OR PERSECUTION.

We know because He not only said it but command it.


Matthew 28:19-20 (NLT) 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations,[a] baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

A. GOD PROMISES TO BE WITH US AS WE CARRY OUT HIS DESIRE AND MISSION TO MAKE DISCIPLES. 

As long as the Lord is with us, we will succeed in all we do.


Genesis 39:2-3 (NLT) 2 The Lord was with Joseph, so he succeeded in everything he fid… 3 Potiphar noticed this and realized that the Lord was with Joseph, giving him success in everything he did.


1 Samuel 18:14 (NLT) David continued to succeed in everything he did, for the Lord was with him.

3) WE MUST PRAY THAT OUR DESIRE TO MAKE DISCIPLES INCREASES TO JESUS DESIRE TO MAKE DISCIPLES. 

May we make it a habit to pray daily in reference to making disciples. 

A. THE HOLY SPIRIT WILL GIVE US THE DESIRES OF JESUS.

The desire to make disciples will not be found in the flesh but in the Holy Spirit.

Galatians 5:17 (NLT) 17 The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions.

B. GOD WILL GIVE A NEW PASSION FOR THE LOST AND MAKING DISCIPLES IF WE WANT IT

Ezekiel 36:26-27 (CEV) 26 I will take away your stubborn heart and give you a new heart and a desire to be faithful. You will have only pure thoughts, 27 because I will put my Spirit in you and make you eager to obey my laws and teachings

C. AS LONG AS WE DESIRE AND PRIORITIZE HIS KINGDOM, HIS WORK - GOD PROMISES TO ADD ALL THINGS THAT WE NEED. 


Matthew 6:33 (CEV) 33 But more than anything else, put God's work first and do what he wants. Then the other things will be
yours as well.

D. WHAT WE DESIRE WE PRAY AND MAKE PLANS FOR.

God will not answer a prayer we have not made.

Psalm 20:4 (AMP) May He grant you your heart’s desire And fulfill all your plans.

• Lord help me recruit 12 disciples the way you did. 
• Lord I pray that this year that you will empower me to develop leader, that will be able to lead a D.G.
• Lord fill me with the love, wisdom and power to be multiplying leader.
• I pray that you empower me to develop 12 mature leaders.
• I am pastor help me develop 144 D.G leaders that disciple 5-12 people. 144X5=720 144x12=1,728 

HOW TO DEVELOP DESIRE? 

1) ASK FOR IT.
2) MEDITATE ON IT.
3) PLAN FOR IT.
4) WORK ON IT.
5) GET EDUCATED IN IT.
6) EXPOSE YOURSELF TO IT.
7) SUCCEED IN IT.
